President Buhari elected chairman of ECOWAS

President Buhari has been elected the new chairman of the Economic Community of West African States ECOWAS.

President Buhari was elected the new chairman of the body at the ongoing 53rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the ECOWAS in Togo today, July 31st.

His Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, disclosed this in a message posted on twitter.

Lionel Messi soaks up the sun on luxury yacht with his family (Photos)

Barcelona superstar, Lionel Messi, 31, is currently enjoying summer break with his family in Ibiza ahead of the new domestic season.

The Argentine star and five-time Ballon d'Or winner was spotted on Tuesday unwinding on a luxury yacht in the sun with his wife Antonella Roccuzzo and some of his family members.

Before making his way into the yatch, Messi took time to pose for a series of photos with some delighted fans.

500,000 thousand fans give France National team a heroes' welcome after World Cup victory (Photos)

The France National football team were given a heroes' welcome as they returned on Monday afternoon from Russia following their World Cup final 4 - 2 win over Croatia.  

500,000 French fans were on the ground to recieve the World Cup winners in Paris as they paraded down the famous Champs-Elysees avenue to celebrate their first World Cup win since 1998.

  

The world cup winners later proceeded to the Presidential Palace where they celebrated with President Macron and France's first lady Brigitte Macron.

Woman cries out after being harassed by drunk Nigerian police officers who bashed her car

A lady has accused some Nigerian police officers attached to NNPC of bashing her car and harassing her afterwards.

The police officers who claimed they were going to their base in Obalende, allegedly hit the woman's car, leaving it with a deep dent, and tried to continue on their way but she blocked them from leaving. They then got down from their car and threatened to deal with her.

The woman said the officers were reeking of alcohol as they verbally abused her.

Sharing photos of the officers, she wrote: 

So that's how I was victimised today... The policemen with the t-shirt on hit my car soo bad and had the effontary to tell me they would hit me and abscond and there would be nothing I would do.

The t-shirt worn was @officialnnpcgroup and @nigeriapoliceforce inscribed on it claiming they were going to their base in Obalende.

Please tell me why at this time the officers meant to keep us safe are drunk??. Smelling all sort of alcohol.

I was verbally harassed and threatened if i don't get my car out of the way they would hit me and zoom off. He even had the guts to say he's a policeman and I shud shut up.!!! Pls I'm not getting. Someone should wake me up it was all a dream.

The @eko_lastma guys tried calming me down knowing fully well they were wrong and drunk. @nigerianpoliceforce is this how you train your staff. This is soo unfair. I need my car fixed ASAP.

IF THEY DONT HAVE A NAME BADGE. THEY HAVE A REGISYERED PLATE. THEY CLAIM OBALENDE IS THEIR LOCATION!!!. All drunk, not properly dressed and carrying rifles in an ungodly manner threatening my life!!! Pls I'm soo not in the mood. I really need my car to be fixed !!! This is victimisation of the highest order. 
Driving so carelessly.!!! This is not police i know oo but mere hoodlums roaming the streets all in the name of police. Oh yes i created a huge scene along Obudu road and people were scared to intervene cause they were officials. Then tried to escape till I doublecrossed them telling them to do their worst. 
Y'ALL SHOULD PLS TAG THE RIGHT HANDLE IF IM NOT GETTING IT. Esp the IG of police.
